    1. I got this short 38-page free read from Dreamspinner today, but was a bit underwhelmed.Jordan is a workaholic publisher who hires an escort online, only to have the escort turn out to be his best friend's older, jock brother, Gabe. The same older brother that he's been in love with for 15 years, but hasn't seen in over a decade. For the book to be about sex for money, the first sex scene was pretty abbreviated and the second one was only a few paragraphs, so I wasn't sure how to really categorize [...]

    2. **2.5 stars** For me, this rent boy story was just so-so. It felt a bit cheesy and silly to me at times, and I actually found myself skimming parts though the story was only 38 pages. Not the best I've read in this genre.

    3. It started out well enough—great in fact—with the decent groundwork for Jordan’s character and his history with Gabe. But then came time for the sex. I had really hoped that it would be Jordan taking the initiative, but no, it was Gabe. Well, okay then, I can handle a man chuckling at the wrong time if it means the other one will find his spine and balls later when it really counts. Except he never did. Jordan did make the mistake of walking out and leaving the money and he paid for it wit [...]

    4. I liked the premise and the idea of Jordan being treated differently than Gabe’s other client’s because he was special to Gabe. The moment they had at the Foo Fighters concert as teenagers was kind of sweet, although completely out of the blue, and liked that the memory of the song carried until they were adults and held meaning. But even for 38 pages, it felt rushed, the insta-love was a bust, and the steam was tepid. (view spoiler)[ Also Gabe’s decision to stop doing sex work after their [...]

    5. Short free rent boy story.I have a thing for rent boy storiesd in this one at least Gabe wasn't kicked out or abused or used or living on the street. you pay 1/2 up front via PayPal ! He actually, if I got it right, didn't really need to do it, he more or less wanted to, until Jordan shows up as a client.I liked it a lotup until Gabe shows up at Jordan's place. felt very rushed and overly perfect after thatbut its free and hits one of my favorite tropes. I'm happy with it, for the most part.

    6. 3.5 stars - This was a sweet and well written little read. I'd have liked to see more about this pair, and I feel like the story could have easily been made into a full length novel. And as a side note, I loved the whole Foo Fighters link - I'm a huge fan and totally agree with Gabe and Jordan that Everlong is (still) their best song ;)

    7. This story was good but I felt it could have been better. The best part is when both men are finally having sexeir awkwardness was endearing and realistic. Halfway through the story lost some of its steam.Sadly the melodrama and tears were not needed. And the insta-"we found love in a hopeless place" feel wasn't as satisfyingwell for me anyway.

    8. Sweet little story, if a bit improbable. Even though I am not a huge fan of The Foo fighters, it was an enjoyable read. :) 3.5 stars rounded up because this story deserves higher than the 3.35 average it currently has. Happy ending? (view spoiler)[Yes, HEA. (hide spoiler)]

    9. I'm not very fond to read stories where the MC is a Prostitute, but it's nice to read for a change, about a character that wasn't abused or living on the street. Nice short story.

    10. Jordan and Gabe have both made mistakes, and it meant they never connected the way they both secretly yearned for. Both men have made choices in their lives they may regret, and even when they do manage to reconnect, it isn’t as easy as they might have dreamed. While this is a short, sweet story which feels a lot like a fairy tale, there is just enough backstory to give it some grounding in reality. Jordan is a hard-nosed businessman by day and a lonely man longing for love by night. He has ne [...]

    11. 2.5 starsThis one just didn't work for me. There were some inconsistencies and unrealistic moments in the story that just didn't sit well with me. (view spoiler)[For example, at one part it says he sent payment via paypal in advance but yet he still left money at the door. I'm sure I could have missed an explanation as I admit to speed reading/skimming most of the book. And honestly, after 10 years of no communication having one encounter is enough for both men to change their whole lives?(hide [...]

    12. 3.5 starsI liked the start of the story very much, Jordan and Gabe meeting up and their first sexy encounter. I guess I was a little disappointed that Gabe let Jordan off the hook too easily, It was Jordan who needed to atone and fix things between them. So the last half of the story wasn't too thrilling, a sweet and light read.

    13. I'm sorry to say but this story didn't work for me at all. If I had to use one word to describe it it would be unrealistic. Maybe if it had been longer and the plot more complex I would have liked it better. But this, this was just very plain and unbelievable.2.5 stars (2 stars for the story, additional half for it being a freebie)

    14. Overall a nice story; I got distracted by the flashbacks and the last epilogue-like part was as if the author put it together rather incoherently. 3.5 stars

    15. This story definitely had that awwwe factor for me, could there have been moreobably but I didn't find it necessary, it felt complete.

    16. Well, what to really sayOkay, so this does have the making of a good story. It really does. Unfortunately, there is not much story to it. It probably doesn't help that it is only 42pgs. It was overly simplistic and unrealistic. Seriously, it went from "Hi, it's you" to "I love you" in like two seconds flat. I am honestly surprised that they weren't married or at least living with one another by the end. In fact I'm relived.

    17. Gabe and Jordan meet again after 15 years in an improbable scenario and live HEA in this short story of second chances. Noticed a few editing errors which I don't usually see in Dreamspinner books.

    18. Review posted at The Armchair Reader. This is a cute little story that is pretty well described by the blurb. Jordan is lonely, pushing into his mid-thirties and devoted to his career. But the real reason he doesn't have a lasting relationship is because no man can stand up to the memory of his first love, no matter how unrequited it was. When he was a teenager, Jordan was in love with Gabe, his best friend Elijah's older brother. The sad thing is that maybe, just maybe Gabe felt the same way abo [...]

    19. Reviewed for Hearts On Fire ReviewsI admit, I started this in a bad mood and was prepared to not like it, due to the whole prostitute aspect. I expected some sad tale of woe as to why Gabe is hooking. Surprise! Gabe is really pragmatic about his chosen career, which was refreshing. He didn’t make excuses, this is what it is. When he is ashamed of it, it’s a byproduct of the two of them (confusing when I say it that way, but I do not want to spoiler it!) Jordan spends all his time working and [...]

    20. 2.5 stars This was a nice enough short, but I rounded down a little just to emphasize the lack of depth. I enjoyed it but felt it could have been done in a way where I got much more emotionally involved (view spoiler)[and of course the "I love you"s were too quick. Yes, maybe you loved him in high school, but can you acknowledge that he is a different person now with different experiences and allow yourself to fall in love with this person, not just the person you think he is? (hide spoiler)]

    21. Sometimes, I like cheesy in my books. This is one of the book with long lost love. You know, after 15 years of separation, and they're never stopped loving each other kind of cheesy? Entertaining. But, I think I'll get diabetes for the sweetness :)Stopping being a prostitute after you've met the love of your life is good, though. That's why I can give this one a try after all.If you like your MCs being so in love, the undying love for so long, you'll probably like it.

    22. This started off fantastic and then quickly faded for me. There was a great deal of potential but sadly, too much was condensed into 38 pages accelerating the relationship between Gabe and Jordan, making it appear unrealistic and forced. The backstory was awesome, and if it had been expanded on a little more before they hopped into the sack, this could've been a five-star read for me. My rating falls in between a 2.25-2.5. It was okay but I wanted so much more. :(

    23. very short story using the trope "i loved you a long time." The MCs meet as teenagers but 15 years go by until they get a chance to act on their love. That type of crap actually pisses me off because all of I can think of is the wasted time! Particularly when there was no real hardcore reason for them to be estranged for so long. Not a terrible read, sort of like a mediocre Amuse Bouche that yeah sort of amuses your bouche and stifles the hunger for a little bit.

    24. This is nicely written. It's short, light and fun to read. It is the story of a self-made publishing tycoon who finally meets his boyhood crushhis best friend's older brother (Gabe)who now happens to be a prostitute. Gabe got into prostitution for the lamest reason everThe history of Gabe and Jordan's shared love for the Foo Fighters was my favorite part of the book.

    25. Quick free read. It was ok but it would have been so much better if it would have been longer. As it was, it made it a bit hard to take it seriously. But still, enjoyable 15 minutes of my time :)

    26. A really nice short story. Would have actually enjoyed this as a full length book as there was lots of potential to build on the background and draw out. Great for a freebie!
