    1. this was such a sad book. I had tons of tears pouring down my face at my gym. lol not a perfect place to be reading a sad book.i got this book free off of amazon, but wanted to read it for a while. this book is about a girl named perry. she is attending college and her subject is medical which was chosen for her by her family. She just wants to make them happy for they are actually nice to her. Perry's mother is nothing nice. she is always telling her how fat she is, or how better all the other [...]

    2. This book drew me in from the beginning and I had a hard time putting it down. In this book, we see Perry as she begins her college life, and the effects her verbally abusive family life (especially her mom) has had on her as she tries to begin this new chapter in her life. Perry establishes a new family of friends while at college. She enjoys her freedom and independence while at school, but because of the verbal abuse she has received at home all of her life, resorts to cutting herself during [...]

    3. 3.5 stars. I liked it. At about 80% into the book I realized what this book reminded me of. The show Felicity. Now mind you, Felicity is/was one of my all time favorite shows. But his book is about your typical young 18 yr old, off living on her own for her first time, in the dorms. Her thought were somewhat juvenile and I'd roll my eyes, but she is 18, and I guess that's expected of how an 18 yr old would act and think. I'll read the rest in the series just to see how it all pans out. Oh and he [...]

    4. This book is an emotional journey for Perry. College is a huge transition for young adults. It's where they learn to be independent of their parents, which can be exciting and terrifying. I have witnessed countless people grab the reigns and succeed and others spin dangerously out of control with their new independence. Tethered follows one girl trying to navigate this transition. The book has love, shame, anger, and leaves you wanting to read the next book to follow Perry's journey.
