    1. A book written about a book - it seems to be kind of redundant doesn't it? On the other hand: some books deserve this kind of analysis. Whether they are literary classis, or works with a rich symbolism that can do with being unpacked, especially if this symbolism has come under attack from people who suggest it's unbiblical, as is the case with The Shack. The Shack is no literary classic, it's no Les Miserables, but it is a book that presents in the form of a story an new look at God in his trin [...]

    2. Someone in my hometown that I've known for years recommended that I read "The Shack," by Wm P. Young, and I am so glad I to have read. A few weeks ago, I noticed this book on store shelves and knew that it was a must read. Dr Kruger does an amazing job explaining the 'story within the story' of "The Shack." This was excellent book by a down-to-earth theologian who brings the understanding of the Trinity. Dr Kruger is a great story-teller and grasps the amazing story of the Trinity and grace that [...]

    3. Enjoyed this very much. Read it because Wm. Paul Young suggested it. I have read the book The Shack and have the audio book and have listened to it over and over again. I also have the audio of this and intend to listen to it as I drive to and from work.

    4. Excellent book by a down-to-earth theologian who brings the understanding of the Trinity from the Nicene Fathers from behind the museum glass where Western Theology placed it to be a living, breathing, life-giving basis of the Best News ever. Baxter is a great story-teller and grasps the amazing story of the Trinity and grace that Paul Young wove through his book. Both authors know both the "great sadness" that we all experience as some level and the power of shame that labels us as "not enough" [...]

    5. I am in the middle and his story of who God is and who Christ is in my life is amazing. I really enjoy it. I'm in a bible study and we are talking about it each week I like that too because some people don't agree or understand things. This week we learned about the author of the shacks' personal life and it was horrific. He is amazing to me that he still believes in Christ

    6. I was so excited to find The Shack Revisited: There Is More Going On Here than You Ever Dared to Dream in my Kindle this week. I ordered the pre- release months ago.I have enjoyed over 100 hours of Baxter Kruger teachings from Perichoresis Ministries and I wanted more. When you combine Baxter’s Bible knowledge, wonderful Mississippi accent, deliverance from Calvinist upbringing, love of C.S. Lewis, and insights into the Early Church Fathers–one hundred hours is not nearly enough. I am pleased [...]

    7. 2.5 I think the title might be misleading, but i can see how they use it to draw people in. Basically, Kruger uses The Shack as a starting point for his discussion of the trinity. He explains his understanding of the doctrine and plugs other books he has written as well as books by others on the subject. Those with an understanding of "God in three persons" won't find anything earth shattering or new I don't think.

    8. Excellent! Maybe a slow starter, especially if you are expecting a novel rather than a treatise, but extremely rewarding! Baxter Kruger makes theology palatable while expounding on the cogs and wheels of The Shack behind the scenes.

    9. If you've read The Shack this is a must read. Baxter breaks down the theological topics that Paul Young shows beautifully in The Shack. Excellent book. Once I picked it up I couldn't put it down. One that I know I will read again.

    10. I read The Shack quite a while back. I enjoyed the story, it was well written and grabbed at the heart strings. It was not in my opinion, Biblical. Along comes C. Baxter Kruger to make the case that The Shack was Biblical and that the Triune God loves all of us, is working in all of us, and has a relationship with us even if we do not realize it. It talks a lot about sinners, but does not have much to say about hell or eternal damnation. This hits at the heart of many of my questions regarding fa [...]

    11. I hated this book! The author just took his beliefs about Jesus and God and through a bunch of mumble jumble words together on some paper. He wouldn't know biblical truth if it hit him in the face! I do not recommend anyone read this pile of crap! This book is crap! It is one man's mumble jumble words of what HE believes to be true! Someone who changes the wording of the Bible to making himself feel less of a sinner!

    12. It is an interesting read-something I think I perhaps would rather pick up and look over rather than read right through .

    13. A very good look at the theology of Young's "The Shack" by a theologian. Kruger's credentials are very good and his exploration of Young's theology reveals a solid depth to the theological approach to "The Shack" as well as some insight into issues that the average reader may have missed. There is some deep theological discussion here but for the most part the book would be easily accessible to a lay reader as well as a minister or theologian.

    14. As a way of digging deeper into the theology of The Shack by Wm. Paul Young, my spirituality book club read The Shack Revisited. I had not liked The Shack, giving it only two stars (the second star because it peaked my interest to study my own church's and my beliefs and understanding about the Trinity and Christian Universalism). Kruger's The Shack Revisited truly helped me appreciate and relate a little more to The Shack's fictional portrayal of the Trinity and how each Person of the Trinity i [...]

    15. The audio version will be a must for some people, as it was for me. Even in audio book form, it was hard for me to get through the book. The author makes some powerful theological points, sometimes being as creative with his language (especially when speaking about the Spirit) as The Shack was.My favorite "take away" from the book was the realization that the Trinity is revealed also in the aspect of God's creation that seeks fellowship, not only with God but also with each other. The Trinity dw [...]

    16. Finally got round to finishing this book. I would have been better reading this quite quickly and returning to it to nibble at again from time to time. He writes theological poetry in a way which at times can be really inspiring and sometimes frustrating. But it is probably the best introduction to his theological perspective - that our salvation is more about our relational inclusion in the trinitarian life from the beginning (our separation from God was only in our hearts and minds and not in [...]

    17. After reading "The Shack" and absorbing it's brilliant writing and perspective I was eager to tackle views on the theology presented in the book. C. Baxter Kruger makes no doubt of his friendship with William Young (author of the Shack) however as I certainly had no qualms with the book I had no issue with what I was sure would be a positive view of it. Indeed there were many areas of this book I fully enjoyed and felt enhanced the experience of reading "The Shack", however I do caution, at time [...]

    18. After hearing the author speak twice I couldn't wait to read the book. However it took me forever to get through it and I felt it a bit difficult to follow. The footnotes were very distracting and I finally had to ignore them which wasn't difficult as I found they kept referencing the same theologians, books, and authors. Overall I enjoyed the lessons but felt them too wordy and the book probably could have been half the length. The author also seemed to use this book as a summary of all his oth [...]

Gostei bastante.

    20. This book hurt my head a little. The first part wasn't very useful but the second and third part were somewhat interesting and filled with a lot if information. But if you want to know what The Shack is all about, read it, re read it and read it slowly to fully absorb the abundance of the meaning of the story.I really liked The Shack. This book, not so much.

    23. It wasn't what I expected from the reviews. It was fascinating and gave a powerful perspective of the triune God, however I felt it kept circling around, being repetitive without much forward movement. I think its worth reading but you have my permission to skip through some, like I had to do with Atlas Shrugged.

    24. Wm Paul Young writes the forward and names Baxter as his approved theological interpreter. This is a sympathetic exploration of the Theology ofThe Shack. Full review is at: thoughtsprayersandsongs/20

    25. Great book, it is basically a deeper look at the book called The Shack as the title says. It is not a follow-up story but a look at the message within and does lend its self to group discussion as well as a individual read.

    26. I was very disappointed. Only got through part one, in which this author spent VERY little time revisiting "The Shack", and more time expounding his personal beliefs from other references. It hardly related to "The Shack" at all. Will not be finishing it.
