    1. I received this book through a give-away on .MaryAnn Ball did a wonderful job with the character descriptions and the scene details. She is definitely a talented author. I would like to see her write something with a better plot, however. This book lacks the traditional story line (beginning, middle, end) and it contains a lot of information that isn't needed for the feel of the story.(view spoiler)[Why the reader needs to know the whole family history of how the character's ancestors came to Am [...]

    2. I received this book free through a giveaway.I was not aware before reading that this was a religious book, which is a genre that I have read some in the past and mostly found to be poorly written. This was not much of an exception to my past experience. The most detail seemed to be in the 'prepper' areas, which is not an area that interests me. It mostly seemed to be that interspersed with little snippets of stories about several main characters, all from one extended family. The sheer number [...]

    3. I enjoyed the characters so much! And as much fun as the book was to read it was also very thought provoking in terms of preparing for the future. Whatever lies ahead for our country, no one knows for sure, but the fact that we need to prepare for any eventuality is extremely important and reading the story of a family's experience in tough times encourages that preparation! Much of what this family does to prepare are things that are just important to do no matter what may lie ahead! I recommen [...]

    4. Written in easy style, but too many characters to keep straight. The Carver family is preparing a refugee camp for the collapse of US society. There is not a real plot. The main point seems to be the promotion of the Mormon religion. Everyone, including kids and teenagers, are too kind and too cooperative, too eager to please.

    5. The publisher shamelessly has rated this book four times with 5 stars. In addition, it would appear others are promoting this book under the false guise of "book reviewer". Can you trust a publisher that uses such dishonest tactics? "Books you can Trust"? Doubtful.

    6. I only read 4 chapters. Did not realize this was a futuristic story and just had no interest in reading. For those who may enjoy that type of book, it may be a whole different experience for them.
