    1. ~4.5~This was a difficult book for me to read. What happens to Dorian at the beginning is so horrific, I actually had to take a break from the story to decompress. Trigger warning: (view spoiler)[rape, torture, abuse; mostly fade to black and portrayed via memory. (hide spoiler)]Dorian is impulsive and standoffish. Thus far in the series, he hasn't been portrayed as a sympathetic character. When he messed with Leo and Alex in book 1, I wanted to strangle him. It's a testament to the emotional de [...]

    2. It took me a long while to read this around my suddenly hectic work schedule. I think that may have played a role in why I didn't connect with this one as much as I had expected before starting. Plus, there was a slight disconnect with how Dorian overcame his grief over his situation. It was too quick to be real.I liked Alan as a Dom, if only for the fact that the way he never did anything wrong took me a while to accept because all other Doms made one mistake or another with their subs, and tha [...]

    3. I am so disappointed. This could have been so much better. I want to cry now.In this installment we finally get Dorian’s story. I have loved Dorian since book 1, bratty and all. And once I found out this was going to be hurt/comfort, oh yeah, my heart did a happy dance. Dorian is looking for something, but he doesn’t know what. He goes to Berlin to push his boundaries but gets more than he bargained for. Alan and Leo come to his rescue and Alan is the one looking after Dorian after his ordea [...]

    4. ***3.5 Stars***This started out amazing! Intense and emotional and gut wrenching for Dorian. He was so lost, spending so much time searching for something that was just out of his reach. "you being fucked. That's not affection. I've watched you, Dorian. You lose yourself and let them have you, but you don't let them in, do you? Not even your friends."In a desperate attempt to find what he's been looking for, a bad decision puts him in a very dangerous situation and shatters his mind, body, and s [...]

    5. 4.5 rounded up to 5 stars from me, what a wonderful ending to this series least I think it's the end, but a certain author will no doubt point me in the right direction if I've cocked it up, hehe. The author has pointed out (very nicely I might add) that there will be 8 stories in this series, so there.I've had problems with Dorian Forrester since the first book in the series, An Unlocked Heart, which featured my favourite couple of the series, Leo and Alex. He tried to break them up, the little [...]

    6. 4.5 starsFinally! Dorian’s story. If you have read any of the Collars and Cuffs books you know Dorian’s reputation as the insatiable pain slut of the club. He is the sub whose jealousy drove him to a spiteful attempt to break up Leo and Alex in An Unlocked Heart (causing him great dislike on my part), but whose seemingly tame scene with Andrew in A Dance with Domination left him obviously shaken. I was very happy to see that Dorian is so much more than what prior glimpses showed us and K.C. [...]

    7. I've read almost every book in this series, except #5, and Dorian was a side figure in all the ones I've read, his reputation as the club's resident pain slut preceding him. He's the one who tried to break up Leo and Alex in book 1, and the same sub who featured in a rather tame Shibari scene with Andrew Barrett in book 4.I didn't think much of Dorian until that scene, to be honest. I didn't like him because of what he tried to do in book 1, and then basically adopted the same kind of attitude t [...]

    8. I so wanted to love this book. I've been waiting for Dorian's story, anxious for him to get his happy ending. But this kind of ruined it for me. (view spoiler)[ I copied this from my handwritten notes, so while it should be exactly as in the book, I don't guarantee it. Yes, you are to blame for putting yourself in harm's way, but it is not all your fault, not by a long shot." andHe'd seen the lad at Collars & Cuffs, so he doubted the guys in the apartment had put him through something he'd b [...]

    9. First off, thanks to K.C. for the ARC! It's no secret I enjoy a good love story. When that love story can include some BDSM, I'm almost always the first person to grab for it. I've read all the other books in this series and enjoyed them quite a lot. This one though? This one is the best of the bunch. And the BDSM? Really, it's not what you might think. In the beginning of the book, I wondered where it would go. There is one point, a turning point I guess, where it could have gone one of many di [...]

    10. 4.5 Stars - WrittenSo we are finally to the point in the “Collars and Cuffs” Series where we are going to find out what makes Dorian, the troubled submissive tick. I have to say I went into this book not knowing what to expect. I had some negative feelings toward Dorian, I admit it. I thought he was a bratty submissive who needed a strong Dom to keep him in check. Luckily the author knew better and she brought Dorian a Dom, Alex, who is patient, kind, loving and still Dominant. This is exact [...]

    11. Ever since I discovered the Collars and Cuffs series I've watched Dorian. At various points throughout the series his behavior has left me livid, disgusted, suspicious, with pity, curious, and most recently, concerned. Make Me Soar is Dorian's story and what a ride it was! There were times I simply had to turn off my mouse and walk away from the computer because I knew what was coming was going to be hard to read and I needed to prepare myself. Dorian's growth throughout the book was beautiful. [...]

    12. I'm still enjoying this series. I found this story appealing due to Dorian's confusion. I liked the way he didn't fully grasp what he was looking for sexually. He thought he wanted one thing, and his desperate need to reach for the satisfaction he thought was there but just out of reach, took him into a dark and horrendous place. What Dorian experiences isn't pleasant and includes (view spoiler)[abuse, rape, torture(hide spoiler)] but it's the start of his journey of discovery. Alan made a perfe [...]

    13. REVIEWED FOR PRISM BOOK ALLIANCE4.5 StarsRe-read on audioIt’s almost a year ago that I first read Make Me Soar and looking back at my review there is very little that has changed in how I feel about this book.Dorian and Alan remain one of my favourite couples from the Collars and Cuffs series. The story is much darker than KC’s usual writing and has a huge impact on the reader from the start as Dorian is tortured whilst blindly searching for that elusive ‘something more’. It’s funny ho [...]

    14. This was solid 4 star - a good plot (hurt/comfort and recovery are draws of mine) and two well done men. I did think Dorian healed up quickly from what was done - and that there might have been some additional support via therapy that he needed or could have benefited from. Drawing out the healing timeframe would have drastically helped this book - like making it a month, 2 months, etc to really let us feel like Dorian is healed enough to consent to a new relationship. The thing that tempered th [...]

    15. The Collars and Cuffs series is a favourite of mine so when a new one comes out I have really high expectations of K C Wells.Make Me Soar shoots straight to the top of the list of best book in the series so far and believe me when I say that Trusting Thomas really takes some beating. Dorian and Alan meet properly under devastating circumstances that have a huge impact on the prospect of a possible D/s relationship. However, their story takes us on an emotionally charged journey and I found some [...]

    16. *peaks out from behind kindle*Ah. Well. Um…Let’s just get this out of the way, shall we? Other people are going to like this book. Other people are going to love this book. Other people are not me.Sorry.*goes back to hiding behind kindle*It was not a bad book, I’ll admit. In fact when I started it I had very high hopes for the story and the characters. The whole pain slut who is not really a pain slut thing really drew me in. And heaven knows it has been ages since I read a good BDSM story [...]

    17. Note: This book was provided to me by the publisher through Hearts on Fire Reviewsin exchange for an impartial review. Number six in the Collars and Cuffs series, in this one, Dorian finally got his own story. The resident pain slut of the Collars and Cuffs BDSM club wasn’t a very likeable character in the first few books, especially when he tried to break up Alex and Leo in An Unlocked Heart.Any time a scene at the club called for a masochistic sub, Dorian was there, but Dorian was never affe [...]

    18. Dorian Forrester is searching for something in his life he can not find. He spends much of his free time at Collars and Cuffs an exclusive BDSM club. Dorian has a reputation for being into pain and nothing is ever too much for him. While that used to work for him it no longer does. No matter what he tries Dorian still can't fill the emptiness inside himself. At the beginning of the story Dorian is heading out of the country to try something extreme to break him out of his numbness. What he gets [...]

    19. Another great story from this series! I give it 4.5 stars. I loved this one and can't wait to read it again. We have seen Dorian and think we know him. He is looking for something that he just can't seem to find. In his desperation, he makes some really bad decisions. In fact, I really wanted to smack him for leaving a club in another country with someone he didn't know. Thankfully, he has friends who care about him way more than he ever thought possible. Alan finds Dorian at his lowest and help [...]

    20. As always KC Wells does this story justice!! I always did see Dorian as someone who was lost. He was looking for someone to love him but he thought pain was the answer. It was great to watch him and Alan grow. Dorian discovered who he really was and Alan realized he had to let go of a past love and also open his heart!!! I have a few favorite collars and cuffs books. Unlocked Heart and Trusting Thomas were so good. I was glad to catch up with my faves and see Peter grow enough to be at the club [...]

    21. I just finished this one after rereading the whole series this weekendYeah I have to say this is almost my favorite one! I just finished and I am so happy that Dorian found what he was in NEED of! Felt bad for him in the previous books but he proves to be a great person/sub/lover in this one. It was unsurprisingly tame after the beginning fiasco but I loved it all around Alan & Dorian just worked!4 STARS!

    22. You go K.C. Wells! Nailed it! Damn superb writing from beginning to end. Intense, gut wrenching, painful, heartwarming, beautiful, lovely, hot. You turned a not so likeable guy into the series underdog favorite. I wanted so badly for Dorian to heal. I fell in love with Dorian and Alan, pulling for them with every page turn. God, it was wonderful. A fine, fine read.

    23. “Make me soar” is the sixth book in the series Collars & Cuffs by KC Wells. Although the story itself is quite limited to the two main characters, I do not recommend you to read it as a standalone. You need to first read the other books in the series, because they give completeness to the history and especially to the character of Dorian. Since the beginning of the series, I do not think there is one person who likes Dorian, he is the kind of character you love to hate, mainly because he [...]

    24. Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 4 1/2 HeartsThis book drew me in from the start. There was something so lost and sad about Dorian that touched me. He has been in the BDSM world for years, but never reached the desperately wanted subspace that all the other subs talk about. He thinks it is all about the amount of pain a sub can take. So thinking he needed more he goes to Berlin. What he gets is something no one would want or suffer through. This leads me to a warning for readers. There could be some [...]

    25. I knew this series had potential for more five-star stories. And here is one of them.It was not only brilliant, it was also quite surprising.Previous books in the series have already introduced us to Dorian - Collars & Cuffs' resident pain slut. He will do almost anything, take whatever a Dom dishes out, urging them to push him further in the hope someone will eventually push him over the edge and make him fly.Yet nothing works. Seeing more and more members of the club finding love and pairi [...]

    26. Original Blog Post: Blog Tour, eARC Review, Excerpt & #Giveaway: Make Me Soar (Collars and Cuffs #6) by K.C. WellsReview by: multitaskingmommaMy Rating: 5 of 5 StarsFor those who have been following the Collars & Cuffs series, it's likely they are familiar with bratty Dorian. He has been around from the very beginning and actually looked more and more like a fool than an actual sub. There he was in the sidelines, getting passed over by every single dom who either has a scene with him or [...]
