    1. It's OFFICIAL! The Heartstrikers series now belongs to my shelf of Favorites! YEY!Warning! This review contains lots of blabbering, fangirling and random fanarts (done by me, so no suing, ok? For higher res: gerynh.tumblr)@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@The story begins a few months after the first book ends and what a start it is! We finally get to meet Bethesda, the Boss/Mother of the Strongest Dragon Clan, and some of her older children! We also have a few epic Bob and Justin scenes that made m [...]

    2. 5 count them 5 StarsThis series is a lot of fun for me and delightfully entertaining. I wish I would have written a review as soon as I finished so I remembered all the great deets, but alas there are so many books and I forgot I hadn’t stopped to tell everyone how great this one is.I’m usually not a huge fan of beta boys. Overall they can be a little boring, but not Julian, he has so much chaos going on around him there is no time for him to be boring at all. Everything in this story happen [...]

    3. 5 of 5 stars at The BiblioSanctum bibliosanctum/2015/08/04/bI had to wait at least a day after finishing One Good Dragon Deserves Another to write my review, lest I just end up gushing incoherently like a madwoman. That’s because this book was simply amazing. Not only did it manage to be even better than the first book – a magnificent achievement in itself, considering how awesome Nice Dragons Finish Last was and how much I already loved it to pieces – it’s also now vying for the top spo [...]

    4. The sequel to Nice Dragons Finish Last was an improvement in every way possible. There is just so much more of everything which made the last book enjoyable that the series is shaping up to be a fantastic one. The worldbuilding was more expansive as we get to see and learn more about the magic of dragons and of the spirits of the earth. Rachel Aaron has created a really unique setting for this series and the backstory of how dragons ended up on earth was truly captivating. Even though the exposi [...]

    5. The littlest dragon and his benevolent family are finally back!.d they are crazier than ever. :)Longer wait for sequel totally paid off, because this book was pure, unadulterated fun. :)OGDDA is set only a month after the events of first book, just enough for Julius to become comfortable thinking he wiggled out from Bethesda's claws. it all goes to hell. Dragon politics is like a mix between Game of Thrones and Survivor and Marcy and our baby dragon are dragged right in the middle of it. Oh, and [...]

    6. This is one of those series I just find a whole heap of fun. It's filled with exciting ideas about bloodthirsty dragons, the lady of the lake, humans, mages and more. the first book I definitely enjoyed more than I anticipated, and this one was exactly the same. Filled with action and drama and lots of good twists from the Dragon Seers who can influence the future. I just think it's pretty great. We're once more following Julius, one of the youngest Heartstrikers Dragons who is currently sealed b [...]

    7. *** 5 ***I just finished listening to the second book of the Heartstriker family dragon saga and I am stoked!!! This is turning out to be one of my favorite new series. Ms Aaron has found the right map to my heart and it is populated with dragons!!! Although I love Julian, him being all idealistic and adorable and all, Marcy is still the stronger character and her potential is unlimited. But I am I love with Chelsy and Katia!!! They stole the show for me in this one, upstaged only by the oldest [...]

    8. 4.5 stars. Very good! Maybe even better than the first book in the series. Marci the Mage (move over, Merlin) and Julius the truly "noble" dragon (kind and wise) are back, even stronger, and with a hint of romance. We see more of secondary characters Bob / Brohomir the Seer, Chelsea the Shade, Justin the warrior, etc. We meet Amelia, A-Clutch dragon Mage. Fun character! We also meet the Lady of the Lake -- Algonquin, and Vann Jager her dragon hunter. Learn more about dragon history, and about Gh [...]

    9. Rachel Aaron’s ONE GOOD DRAGON DESERVES ANOTHER is witty, fresh, and fun. A sequel that expands on world building, characters, and the series plot makes this one a winner. Our story opens two months after the events of the first book and Julius Heartstriker and his human mage friend Marci are hiding out in the DFZ. Who are they hiding from? Depends who you ask, but anyone bearing the name of Julius’ dragon clan –Heartstriker – is someone to avoid so far as he’s concerned. But family is [...]

    10. When is the release date for the next book? I need to know! Waiting for months after an ending like this (view spoiler)[ Algonquin killed The Three Sisters like they were pesky flies! After spending the last two books being told they're the scariest, most powerful dragons alive! Julius and company are so screwed. And Bob being all "Oh well! Let the fun begins!". And that epilogue! Who the hell is that raven???(hide spoiler)] is going to be hard. So I guess I found a new series to obssess over. B [...]

    11. My daughters and I were all very excited to listen to One Good Dragon Deserves Another on our holiday road trip. We loved the first book in the series and really enjoyed the narrator. We were not disappointed; this second book in the series is just as good as the first one was and once again the narrator does a great job. One great thing is that my daughter, who doesn't really care to read very much, really likes listening to these. It was a nice treat to revisit Julius, Marcy, Ghost Cat (whom w [...]

    12. Review from Tenacious Reader: tenaciousreader/2015/13.5/5 starsWhat can I say? I really hoped to love this one as many of my trusted blogger friends did. And while I did enjoy it over all I definitely did not love it. I have had a hard time deciding exactly why that is, and it may just come down to I find Julius a bit boring and I got a little sick of the whole “nice dragon” thing. While things get “hard” for him during the book, I feel like the solutions almost seem to come easy or conv [...]

    13. 4/5; stars; A-I really enjoyed this second addition to the Heartstriker series. There are many characters with great potential and I look forward to more books with this particular cast. The only flaws were an excessive amount of navel gazing and internal dialog at some points. Besides that, there was an inventive magic system, good pacing, and lots of humorous moments. I both listened to and read the book. As with the first in this series, I really enjoyed the abilities of the narrator, Vikas A [...]

    14. Overall rating = 4.5 stars Full review over at Fantasy Book Critic Read my in-depth interview with Rachel Aaron as she reveals some starling factoids and secrets of the Heartstriker series & worldASSIFICATION: The Heartstriker series is an action-packed urban fantasy series with a strong dose of comedy, post-apocalyptic SF themes and dragons. ANALYSIS: Ever since I got my hands on The Spirit Thief, the debut book by Rachel Aaron, I’ve been enchanted by the worlds she imagines and the chara [...]

    15. 10/17/15 FINISHED BUT I DUNNO HOW TO FEEL ABOUT THIS. I'm going to need a day to get my feels together.10/18/15 3 Stars and I feel guilty about that >>; I truly wanted to love this more. I do love parts of this book insanely but as a whole, it flopped for me.I LOVED Ghost and the taking down of that Dragon Hunter. That was really awesome. I pretty much loved the book until this point and it went downhill from there for me. That honestly felt more like the climax and conclusion, and everyt [...]

    16. Fast paced, intense action, fun and quirky characters. Nice continuation and fully recommended for fans of the last book.

    17. Rachel Aaron has done it again: utterly dazzled me with her storytelling. I absolutely LOVED Nice Dragons Finish Last and could not wait for One Good Dragon Deserves Another, and boy, were my high expectations met and exceeded! There's action! There's romance! There's magic! There's plot twists! There's humor! There's DRAGONS! And all in larger amounts than in book 1!So OGDDA (as I will refer to book 2 from now on, because typing out One Good Dragon Deserves Another every time is going to get ol [...]

    18. Still interesting, fun, and engaging, not to mention clean and totally safe, the author nudged the overall story plot along just enough in this book. While the H was still sort of wimpy and the h was still sort of too ditzy for me, there was definite character growth. And while the resolution of the Heartstriker portion of the conflict was a little, erm, unlikely, I'm waiting to see how Rachel Aaron sells it in the next installment of the series.

    19. 4.5 starsLoved the mad rush pacing of this one. Also loved all the exposition, world building, insane seer plots, and new characters! Having a lot of fun with this series. It really deserves more limelight.

    20. 4.5 StarsOriginally posted at The Bookaholic CatOne Good Dragon Deserves Another is the second book in the Heartstrikers series by Rachel Aaron. Vikas Adam narrates this audiobook. One Good Dragon Deserves Another starts one month after the events in Nice Dragons Finish Last (first book in the series). Julius is enjoying his new life in the Detroit Free Zone, far from his family and their machinations. He is working hard in the business he started with Marci, a business that is slowly growing. Ev [...]

    21. I first got introduced to this series through a daily audible deal which was an awesome case of serendipity. When I found out the this book was a kindle daily deal I snatched it up and because I loved the audio version of the first book so much I spent the extra to get the audible version with the kindle one. (That says a lot for me since I am notoriously cheap.)The story by itself is great, engaging, exciting, and a bunch of other wow-ish adjectives. I particularly like her dragons, how their [...]

    22. Very entertaining. The plot got a little convoluted at the end and Marci's tendency to question dragons at the top of her voice in dangerous situations got old real quick. But other than that i loved it.

    23. If only a perfectly nice dragon could be left well enough alone to manage his curse removal business with his partner (and crush) the human mage, Marci. Unfortunately for Julius, his family is far too big and far too, well, draconic to ever let him be. And clan seer Bob claims to have big plans for him. This does not at all add up to a quiet lifetime of removing tank badger spirits (don’t ask) from the erstwhile cursed. This series is just so much awesome fantasy fun. Picking up shortly after t [...]

    24. Ohmygod. I want to squeeeeee about all the amazing things jam-packed into this book but I also want this review to remain spoiler free since I was oh so lucky to be able to read it early :DI'm pretty sure I'm the exact target audience of this book, but anyone that likes FUN, funny, witty fantasy that somehow manages to set everything up and yet still be a complete surprise when you get to that moment - would love this book. I read a lot of predictable stories and I think that's one of the things [...]

    25. Another great book by Aaron. It's mostly lighthearted but it has some layers that keep it from being at all silly. The emotions that motivate all of the characters always ring true even when they're writ large enough for these dramatic dragons (and one enthusiastic mage) to embody them. It's just a fun series. The worldbuilding is also rich and layered, literally layered in Detroit's DFZ two level city. The magic is well imagined and just beginning to be spelled out (oy, punny, sorry), I'm looki [...]

    26. 3.5 ✭. Not quite as much fun as the first one. Julius is almost too self deprecating, though he's still true to his beliefs. More evil, more twisted plots, more obnoxious dragons and spirits and more of Bethesda's intolerable cruelty. We got to know some old characters better which was not all good, some I liked less in this book, some more. The reveal of Estelle's plot was hard to wrap my head around, though R.A. did try hard to explain how it all worked. It was just really out there for me.I [...]

    27. It was so good!!! I really like Julius as well as all the other characters and it gave me some much-needed breaks between nightly episodes of Survivor: Precalculus Edition. I also really, really love how the author doesn't leave you hanging off a cliff, but just starts to gently roll you down a slightly sloping hill
