    1. Without a doubt this was an awesome read!Typically when I hear that a story contains vampires, I immediately think Twilight (which I have not watched by the way) and I then leave it on the shelf. When I started reading The Last Night and realized that it contained vampires, I was surprised that I did not get that same stereotype stuck in my mind. No, instead, Mark Dunn created something that for all intents and purposes is a vampire but comes off real and terrifying. I found myself wanting to kno [...]

    2. John Barron never felt at home in his own skin. Constantly moving from place to place, from job to job, he can never escape the nagging feeling that someone, or something, is coming for him, and that this predatory evil threatens all he holds most dearRose is a creature of the night, a brutal killer with no conscience who is propelled only by the need to survive. But now, suddenly, she sees in her dreams the face of a child, her baby, and her life is thrown into a chaos she never saw coming. What [...]

    3. One chapter in and I knew it was a 5 star! The characters, the writing, the build to a crescendo! Amazing. It has been a while since I've read a book this exhilarating. I love vampire stories but, NEVER have I read one like this. I'm now looking for his first book. Mark Dunn, you have a new fan in me!

    4. I don’t often read horror or supernatural stories, mostly because they tend to go a little over the top for me. I picked this book up because I enjoyed Mark Dunn’s first novel, A Girl in Mind, which seemed to ride a unicycle down that thin line of too much and just enough. This book, however, ignores the thin line and embraces the whole spectrum of the natural and supernatural, to the absolute benefit of the story and the reader. You can’t write a review of this book without talking about t [...]

    5. The Last Night is the latest novel from Mark Dunn. Following on from the well received A Girl in Mind, there are some parallels with his first novel, notably a fusion of realism and paranormal elements. The novel is set in the city of Charlotte, North Carolina, where Dunn currently resides, working as an English teacher in a small private school. He is currently busy working on a third novel and, if The Last Night is anything to go by, it’ll be one to look out for.The Last Night is a fast pace [...]

    6. This was an interesting story that flowed well. The characters John and Rose were well written and even though I think that vampires have been overdone this was still a good read. I would recommend it

    7. A very interesting book indeed. I enjoyed reading this supernatural thriller. The book is slow and builds up to the suspense. The characterization is well developed and enjoyed following the characters in this book. A must read for any and all that enjoy suspense, thrillers, and supernatural.

    8. A giveaway. This is a great book with non stop suspense. It is edge of your seat writing from beginning to end. I would give it the highest recommendation on any scale.

    9. I simply could not put this book down. What a wild ride I had! I cant wait to read more from this authora wickedly plotted, page turner. Top-Shelf for sure.
