Kicking things off in style this month we have a brand new Unique Podcast from Virus head honcho Optical. Keeping things dark and funky Optical really delivers the goods with cuts from himself and Ed Rush, The Upbeats, Audio, Cause4Concern, SIgma and many more – this is essential listening for any self respecting DnB head!
As well as mixing up a storm on for our Podcast, Optical’s also been lining up some rather tasty sounding releases for his legendary Virus imprint. Starting the snowball on 5th October is Audio with Planetfall b/w Pandorum (Virus 022), after that Body & Soul vs. Fourward will be making their Virus debut with Authority b/w Carnage (Virus 023), swiftly followed by the legendary Cause4Concern who return to the label after an eight year gap with Stranglehold b/w Blabbermouth (Virus 024). As with pretty much every Virus release to date these 3 will be ‘Buy on Sight’ so keep your eyes peeled! |

Sigma have been hard at work over the past few years with releases on Bingo, Hospital, Charge, Viper and now their very own imprint Life Recordings. The second release on Life - Nexus b/w Front to Back – hit the stores recently and has been getting a lot of support from all over the scene from the likes of Friction, Grooverider, Fresh and more – check it out at the Unique store here.
All this hard work was recognised recently as the boys picked up Best Newcomer DJ at Drum&Bass Arena 2009 Awards in London, a well deserved accolade. Fresh from remixing Roni Sizes Music Box in 2008 this formidable duo have recently remixed the new Nextmen single ‘Lion’s Den’ which is out now on Universal. As if all these releases weren't enough to keep you going they’ve also got a brand new podcast in the making, a new website just launched, releases on planned on the mighty Breakbeat Kaos in 2010, oh and did we mention a video interview over on DNBTV? |

Cabbie is no stranger the world of drum and bass, with a huge amount of experience as a DJ, producer, sound engineer, dubplate mastering and club sound engineer, music tutor and record shop manager, this is a man who knows his music! It should come as no surprise then that over the last 18 months Cabbie has seen his productions signed to leading labels such as Twisted Individual’s ‘Zombie Recordings’ and DJ Hype & Pascal’s ‘Ganja Records’. It should also come as no surprise that with those seals of approval Cabbie can now add label owner to his impressive list of achievements with the launch of ‘Pollution Recordings’. Cabbie also teamed up with Crystal Clear from Playaz recently and the result is the absolutely huge ‘Itzalot’ featuring MC Stapleton which was made BBC 1Xtra's Mistjams "Jam Hot Record Of The Week" last week. To celebrate the trio were invited in for a chat and to do a mini mix on the show! |

Dieselboy is just gearing up for the PLANET OF THE DRUMS 10th Year Anniversary tour in North America. This annual event sees Dieselboy take to the road alongside with AK1200, Dara and Messinian and this tour will put it in the history books as the longest running electronic music tour in North America.
As well as this his Human Imprint record label is keeping up the pressure with releases from Spktrm, Zardonic and Gein in the pipeline. Away from the Drum and Bass, Dieselboy also runs the newly created SubHUMAN which caters for all things Dubstep and Electro and next up a very dirty dubstep release "Hunt You Down" from Numbernin6. |

JJ FROST ON DNBTV |

|
|
Legend of the scene Jumping Jack Frost teamed up with the Liquid V family including Bryan Gee, Zero Tolerance, Mosus and Darrison smashed up DNBTV last week. This weekly broadcast regularly attracts thousands of viewers and the Liquid V show was no exception as tracks from Dillinja, Calibre, Zero T, Alix Perez and many more got an airing. |
